Milton.

God gave to thee the keys of heaven and hell,1
With power to bring their secret things to light.2
His hands upbore thee in thy fiery flight.3
He who inspired the seers of Israel4
Fashioned thy tongue to speak the unspeakable ;5
So that for ever with the sons of men6
Thy sacred sentences shall deeply dwell,7
Graven and grafted with an iron pen,8
As of a ruler by the might of mind.9
As Zion standeth with her crowa of hills,10
So thou, above Harth’s storms and wasting wind,11
Art crowned of God. His is the thought that fills12
Thy utterance. His own breath thy being doth move.13
I tremble and bow down—I feel and love.14
