Poet and Church of England clergyman. Born in Liverpool. Educated at the University of Cambridge. Ordained a priest in 1869. Bishop of Truro (1906-1912). Married Harriet Turner. Author of several volumes of poetry including *The Conscience, and Other Poems* (1884), *Bryhtnoth’s Prayer and Other Poems* (1899), *Castles in the Air: And Other Poems Old and New* (1903).
