Croker, Thomas Crofton (M)

b. 15 January 1798. d. 8 August 1854. Nationality: Irish. VIAF.
Antiquary and folklorist. Worked in the Admiralty’s office (1819-1850). Published a collection of oral legends, *Fairy Legends and Traditions of the South of Ireland* (1825-9). Elected a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London, and became a member of the Royal Irish Academy in 1827 and British Archaeological Association in 1843.
