Major Victorian poet. Pseudonyms: “Ellen Alleyne,” “C. G. R.,” “Calta.” Sister of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and William Michael Rossetti, as well as the Dante scholar and Anglican nun Maria Francis. Closely associated with the Pre-Raphaelites and the Oxford Movement. Her first two published poetry volumes, *Goblin Market and Other Poems* (1862) and *The Prince’s Progress and Other Poems*, were illustrated by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
