her father, and established a professional career as a writer after her father’s death.
Influenced by Walter Scott. Well connected with London literary society. Frequent
poetry contributor to literary annuals. Editor of *Fishers Juvenile Scrapbook*, *Court
Journal*, *The Birth-day Gift: A Christmas and New year’s Present* (1852). Author
of the poetry volumes *The Seven Ages of Woman, and Other Poems* (1827), *Patriotic
Songs* (1830, with her sister Susanna), *Historic Scenes and Poetic Fancies* (1850).
History volumes include, with her sister Elizabeth (although published only under
Agnes’s name), *Lives of the Queens of England* (1840-1848) and *Lives of the Queens
