Hume, Alexander (M)

b. 1 February 1809. d. 24 May 1851. Nationality: Scottish. VIAF.
Poet and song writer. Born in Kelso. Worked in London for an Edinburgh brewing company (1827-1840) and joined the London Literary and Scientific Institution. Author of *Scottish Songs* (1835), *English Songs and Ballads* (1838), *Songs and Poems, Chiefly Scottish* (1845).
