b. 16 January 1800. d. 12 April 1867. Nationality: Irish. VIAF.
Poet, journalist, editor, biographer, and historian. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin. Editor of *Patriot*, co-founder of and contributor to *Dublin Inquisitor*, editor of *Home News*. Moved to London in 1828. Became interested in spiritualism later in life, and was also an important member of the committee of the Literary Fund.
