and Lyrical* (1853), *The Light of Asia* (1879), *The Light of the World* (1891),
*East and West* (1891). Principal of the Deccan Sanskrit College in Poona, India (1857-1861).
Became a chief editor of *Daily Telegraph* (1873-1889). Considered for the Poet Laureateship
