Poet. Born in Stirlingshire. Both parents died when Henderson was a child. Employed
at the age of twelve in a relative’s business in Glasgow. Travelled to India in 1849
and lived in Calcutta, later returning to Glasgow. Author of *Glimpses of the Beautiful,
