of Man. Worked as an actress in the Isle of Man in c.1824-1825, and also in Manchester
and Leeds. Married comedian James Green on 13 May 1828. Lived apart from her husband
from 1851 and then worked as a seamstress. Alternative signatures: “E. S. Craven,”
“Eliza S. Craven Green,” “Sutherland,” “E. S. C,” and “Sutherland Craven” (Sutherland
was her mother’s maiden name). Mother of set designer Henry Hawes Craven Green. Author
