Naval correspondent for *Daily News* (1885), *The Standard* (1887-1890), *The Times* (1890-1895). Author of *Meroë* (1876), *The Lover’s Progress: Poems* (1881), *Eclogues* (1899). *Chambers’s Journal* ledger entry for his poem, published on 16 October 1880, gives an address of 86 Holland Road (NLS Dep 341/369).
