Psychical researcher, essayist, and poet. Born in Keswick, Cumberland. Elder brother of poet Ernest Myers. Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. Married Eveleen Tennant on 13 March 1880. Mentored by Henry Sidgwick. One of the founding members of the Society for Psychical Research (1882). Toured Italy, Greece, Asia Minor, Canada, and the United States.
