Church of Scotland minister (parishes of Kirkmaiden and Dryfesdale) and poet. Pseudonym: “D. R. W.” Born in Kirkmaiden, Wigtonshire. Divinity degree from Edinburgh University. Author of *Poems of Nature and Life* (1888). The *Chambers’s Journal* ledger entry, for his poem published on 24 March 1874, names him “D. R. Williams” and gives an address of 8 Grindlay St [Edinburgh]. (NLS Dep 341/368).
