Kinney in 1841. Mother of Edmund Clarence Stedman. Contributed to *Graham’s*, *Ladies’
Wreath*, *Knickerbocker*, and *Newark Daily Advisor*. Author of *Felicità: A Metrical
Romance* (1855), *Poems* (1867), and *Bianca Capello: A Tragedy* (1873). Moved to
Italy from 1850-1865, supported Italian Unification, and was closely connected with
English writers such as Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Alfred Tennyson.
