Illustrator and caricaturist. Born in London. Studied art in Versailles (1836). Illustrator for *Punch* (1841-1864). Married Anne Viola Eaton in May 1842. Illustrated novels such as *A Christmas Carol* (1843) by Charles Dickens and several by Robert Smith Surtees. Contributed to *Once a Week* and the *Illustrated London News*.
