Classical scholar, poet, and editor. Alternative signature: “G. A. Simcox.” Brother of William Henry Simcox and Edith Jemima Simcox. Educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Publications include *Prometheus Unbound: A Tragedy* (1867), *Poems and Romances* (1869), *Recollections of a Rambler* (1873), *A History of Latin Literature from Ennius to Boethius* (1883). Edited *The Orations of Demosthenes and Aeschines on the Crown* (1872) with his brother William Henry. Contributed to *North British Review*, *Fortnightly Review*, *Nineteenth Century*, and *Academy*.
