Brown, John (M)

b. 1822. Nationality: Scottish.
Working-class poet, writing in Scots and English. Born in Alexandria, Dumbartonshire, and lived for most of his life in Glasgow where he was a pattern maker. Author of *Snow Drifts* (1874, 1883), *Poems and Songs* (1883), *Wayside Songs, with Other Verse* (1883), and *Wayside Songs, with Later Lyrics* (1887).
