University of Edinburgh and Pembroke College, Oxford. Travelled to Italy, Albania,
and Greece (1815-1817). Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. Appointed Chair
of the Practice of Physic at Glasgow (1827). Married twice: Margaret Campbell on 12
