Poet and children’s writer. Multi-lingual. Brother of Charles Lamb, with whom Mary Lamb adopted Emma Isola, who later married the publisher Edward Moxon. Suffered, like her brother, from mental illness. When Mary was released from an asylum after killing their mother, during a period of mania, Charles devoted his life to caring for her.
