Wight. Educated at Christ Church College, Oxford. Married twice, Jane Maria Baker
on 26 November 1840 and the Honourable Catherine Dorothea Colville in 1861. Elected
MP for the Isle of Wight in 1847, but resigned in 1851 when he converted to Catholicism.
