Educated at Queen’s College, and New Inn Hall, Oxford, and the Inner Temple. Schoolmaster at Manchester Grammar School. Author of several volumes of poetry including *Chiming Triffles: Fugitive Compositions in Verse* (1858), *Sonnets and Other Poems* (1863), and *Varieties in Verse* (1875).
