Playwright and poet. Pseudonym: “Aureolus Paracelsus”. Born in Dublin to a Quaker
family. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he studied medicine. Friends with
the Yeats family. Moved to London in the 1870s, where he became closely connected
with Irish literary circles. Involved with Irish Literary Society, Gaelic League,
the Rhymers’ Club, and the Order of the Golden Dawn. Publications include *The Banshee
