Poet, novelist, playwright, and historian. Married James Maxtone Graham on 3 September 1893. Author of *“A Chef d’Œuvre.”* (1893), *Sindthrift* (1906), *True Romances of Scotland* (1906), *Children of France* (1914), and the children’s play *The Sword of Peace* (1918). Author of several books about her family history including *The Oliphants of Gask. Records of a Jacobite Family* (1910) and *The Maxtones of Cultoquhey* (1935). Alternative signature: “E. Blair Graham.” *Chambers’s Journal* ledger entries refer to her as Mrs Maxtone Graham, and list her address as of 15 India St, Edinburgh (poem published 9 February 1895; NLS Dep 341/371).
