“W. W. Campbell.” Born c. 15 June 1860 in Newmarket, Upper Canada. Educated at the
University of Toronto, Protestant Episcopal Divinity School (Wycliffe College), and
Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Married Mary Louisa DeBelle
(Dibble) on 6 October 1883. Ordained a priest in 1886. Appointed as a rector in several
parishes in New Brunswick (1885-1890). Moved to Ottawa in 1891. Worked as a civil
servant in several departments of government. Contributed to *Harper’s New Monthly
Magazine*, the *Week*, the *Globe*, and the *Ottawa Evening Journal*. Member of the
Royal Society of Canada. Friends with John Campbell, the 9th Duke of Argyll. Author
of *The Collected Poems of Wilfred Campbell* (1905). *Chambers’s Journal* ledger entry
for Campbell’s “Her Look,” published on 20 November 1897, lists his address as Privy
