Poet and letter writer. Pseudonym: “I. A. S.” Travelled to Tennessee, United States,
in 1850 where she married Edward Albert Suverkrop on 14 March 1851. Moved to San Francisco,
travelling via New Orleans, Cuba, and Panama. Moved back to Scotland (1857-1860).
Returned to the United States and settled in Washington, D. C. (1860-1869). Volunteered
at hospitals during the Civil War. Moved back to Scotland in 1869, then to Surrey,
