Working-class poet. Born in Milnab, near Crieff. Son of a miller. Apprentice housepainter.
Contributor to *Glasgow Herald* and *People’s Friend*. Author of *Strathearn Lyrics,
and Other Poems* (1889). *Chambers’s Journal* ledger entry for Edwards’ “Starlight,”
published on 18 February 1893, gives his address as 54 Comrie St, Crieff (NLS Dep
