Poet and novelist. Pseudonym: “Theo. Gift.” Sister of artist Alice Havers. Educated
at home. Father was a colonial governor, and family moved to the Falkland Islands
in 1854 and then to Uruguay in 1861. Returned to England after father’s death in 1870.
Married the botanist George Simonds Boulger on 22 April 1879. Contributed to Cassell’s Magazine, The Lamp, and All the Year Round. Co-authored children’s stories with Edith Nesbit. Author of several novels including
