Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and the Medico-Botanical Society. Member of the Royal Humane Society and Literary Fund Society. Author of several volumes of poetry including *Odes, Original and Translated, with Other Poems* (1823), *Minstrel Melodies* (1839), *Field Flowers: A Collection of Poems*, and *The Garland: A Collection of Poems*.
