Yorkshire, then Croydon, Surrey. Became Rector of Hayes in 1774. Translated from Latin
works by Sappho, Anacreon, and Theocritus. Author of *Original Poems and Translations*
(1761), a collection of translations from modern Latin authors. Friends with Samuel
