Prevost, Francis (M)

Poet, journalist, translator, and psychical researcher. Educated at the Royal Military Academies at Woolwich and Sandhurst, but left the army to become a journalist. Correspondent for the *Morning Post* in South Africa during the Boer War, Somaliland in 1902, and in India as a special correspondent for the Prince of Wales (1905-1906). Rejoined the army to fight in World War I. Author of *Rust of Gold* (1895), *False Dawn* (1897), and *In the Web of War* (1900). Married Frances Muriel Saunders in 1909.
