Nationality: Irish.
Poet. Born in Ennis, County Clare. Daughter of Irish poet Arthur Gerald Geoghegan (1810-1889). Prolific periodical poet. *Chambers’s Journal* ledger entries refer to the poet as Miss M. Geoghegan, and list her address as 27 Addison Rd, Kensington, London S. W. (poem published 10 August 1889; NLS Dep 341/370) and 8 St Helens Rd, Hastings (3 February 1894; NLS Dep 341/371). Geoghegan seems to have moved to Hastings from her father’s house in Kensington after his death. Additional biographical information: D. J.
