b. 30 October 1762. d. 25 July 1794. Nationality: French.
Poet and journalist. Born in Constantinople. Moved to France at the age of 2. Educated at the Collège de Navarre. Appointed secretary to the French ambassador in London. Became a Feuillant during the French Revolution. Contributed to the *Journal de Paris*. Executed during the Terror. All his poetry was published posthumously and wasadmired by the Romantics.
