Crowe, Eyre Evans (M)

b. 20 March 1799. d. 25 February 1868.
Poet, historian, and journalist. Born in Redbridge, Southampton. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin. Travelled to Italy in 1822. Married Margaret Archer in 1823. Contributed a piece on the history of France to the *Cabinet Encyclopaedia (1831). Appointed correspondent for the *Morning Chronicle* in Paris in 1832. Returned to England in 1844.
