Niece and ward of Katharine Harris Bradley. Cooper and Bradley lived together as lovers,
writing collaboratively and prolifically under the pseudonym “Michael Field.” They
were part of a large literary circle that included Robert Browning, Oscar Wilde, Vernon
Lee, J. A. Symons, Charles Ricketts and Charles Shannon. Converted to Catholicism
