Father was Charles Roope. Married George Cockle in 1801, later separating from him
and working as a governess. Publications include *The Juvenile Journal; or Tales of
Truth* (1807), *Important Studies, for the Female Sex, in Reference to Modern Manners,
etc.* (1809), *Simple Minstrelsy* (1812), *National Triumphs* (1814), *Reply to Lord
