Poet, critic, editor, teacher, and prose writer. Educated at Magdalene College, Oxford, and Lincoln’s Inn. Editor of *Blackwood’s Edinburgh Magazine*. Professor of Moral Philosophy in Edinbugh (1280-1851). Author of *The Isle of Palms and Other Poems* (1812).
