Friends with Tennyson and Matthew Arnold. Active member of the Royal Society of Literature. Wrote about her travels through Spain, France, and South Africa. Author of several volumes of poetry including *Lyrics* (1888), *Lyrics and Ballads* (1889), *Aëromancy, and Other Poems* (1896), *Songs* (1896), *Princess of Hanover* (1902), and *Collected Poems* (1914).
