Poet and chartered accountant. Born in Lambeth, London. Initially worked in his father’s tailor business in Bond Street, London, and by 1861 became an accountant. Secretary of the Lambeth Baths and Wash Houses Co., and author of *Baths and Wash Houses* (1854). Moved to Kent and then Tunbridge Wells.
