b. 13 August 1850. d. 14 February 1887. Nationality: English. VIAF.
Poet. Son of John Westland Marston. Friend of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Algernon Charles Swinburne, and godson of Philip James Bailey and Dinah Mulock Craik. Became blind by age 20, and his poems were dictated. Poetry volumes include *All in All* (1875) and *Wind-Voices* (1883). Louise Chandler Moulton published two posthumous collections of his poetry: *Garden Secrets* (1887) and *A Last Harvest* (1891). Contributed to *The Cornhill* and *Harper’s*.
