and Greenwich. Educated at the University of Bonn. Acquaintance of Henry James and
Morton Fullerton. Poetry volumes include *Eleanore, and other Poems* (1856), *Songs
without Music: Rhymes and Recitations* (1882), and *Past and Present* (1903). Novels
include *Rita* (1856), *Confidences: by the Author of “Rita”* (1859), and the posthumously
