Poet and novelist. Pseudonym: “S. A. D. I.” and “Sadie” (her childhood self-appellation).
Date of birth 1837 or 1838. Although she was born in London, and seems to have lived
there all her life, Williams had a Welsh father and identified herself as partly Welsh.
Educated at Queen’s College, Harley Street, London, in early 1850s. Published poems
and sketches in *Good Words*, *Sunday Magazine*, *The Argosy*. Publications include
the poetry volume, *Twilight Hours* (1868), and a novel, *The Prima Donna* 1884),
