Poet and songwriter. Born in Ireland. Daughter of the writer John Hedderwick, from
Glasgow, and the niece of editor and publisher James Hedderwick. Spent her childhood
mostly in Glasgow. Married in 1879 and moved to London. Contributed to *London Society*,
*Atalanta*, *Chambers’s*, and *The Girl’s Own Paper*. Her songs were often set to
music. Author of *A Spray of Lilac, And Other Poems and Songs* (1892). Biographical
