Bain, Charlotte (F)

Poet. Pseudonym: “C. B.” Alternative signatures: “C. Bain,” “C. I. M. Bain”. Her Scottish father was a friend of Walter Scott, and her husband was Joseph Bain. Her son, F. W. Bain, compiled her poems as *An Echo of the Spheres Rescued from Oblivion* (Methuen and Co., 1919), which includes his prefatory memoir of his mother. (AC)
