Songwriter, poet, and school inspector. Born in Dublin. Protestant. Involved in the
Welsh as well as Gaelic Revival movements. Head of the London Irish Literary Society
and elected bard at the 1902 National Eisteddfod of Wales. Father of Robert Graves.
Author of poetry volumes, including *Songs of Killarney* (1873), *Irish Songs and
