               <l>With all the iron of soul and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeEye" label="o">blood</rhyme></l>
               <l>Turned to a sword in <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p">hand</rhyme>.</l>

               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">His</seg> creed was “ Best man to the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="q">fore</rhyme>!”</l>
               <l>And he was always <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="r">there</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>Up any peak of peril <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="r">where</rhyme></l>
               <l>There was but room for <rhyme label="l" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">one</rhyme>:</l>
               <l>The only thing he did not <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="r">dare</rhyme></l>
               <l>Was any death to <rhyme label="l" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">shun</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>A thousand heroes <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="s">deep</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>With a red pride of life, and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="t">hot</rhyme></l>
               <l>For him, their blood ran <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="u">free</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>They “ minded not the showers of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="t">shot</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>No more than peas,” said <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="u">he</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>At Nelson of the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="w">Nile</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Who set his fleet in flames, to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="x">light</rhyme></l>
               <l>The lion to his <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="y">prey</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And lead destruction through the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="x">night</rhyme></l>
               <l>Upon his dreadful <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="y">way</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Nor rested till he hunted <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeHalf" label="z">them</rhyme></l>
               <l>From off the ocean’s <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a1">face</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>Like that old war-dog, who, till <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b1">death</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Hung to the vessel’s <rhyme label="n" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">side</rhyme></l>
               <l>Till hands were lopped, and then with <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeHalf" label="b1">teeth</rhyme></l>
               <l>He held on till he <rhyme label="n" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">died</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The edge of every spirit <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c1">whet</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And every arm in<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d1">spire</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>Yet I have seen upon his <rhyme label="a1" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">face</rhyme></l>
               <l>The tears that, as they <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e1">roll</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Show what a light of saintly <rhyme label="a1" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">grace</rhyme></l>
               <l>May clothe a sailor’s <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e1">soul</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The people knelt down in the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f1">street</rhyme></l>
               <l>To bless him on his <rhyme label="y" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">way</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>He felt the country of his <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g1">love</rhyme></l>
               <l>Watching him from a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h1">far</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>It saw him through the battle <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeEye" label="g1">move</rhyme> :</l>
               <l>His heaven was in that <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h1">star</rhyme> !</l>

               <l>Magnificently glorious <rhyme label="x" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">sight</rhyme></l>
               <l>It was in that great <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i1">dawn</rhyme> !</l>
               <l>Like one vast sapphire flashing <rhyme label="x" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">light</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>The sea, just breathing, <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeHalf" label="i1">shone</rhyme> !</l>
               <l>Their ships, fresh painted, stood up <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="j1">tall</rhyme></l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> stately : ours were <rhyme label="h" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">grim</rhyme></l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> weatherworn, but one and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="j1">all</rhyme></l>
               <l>In rare good fighting <rhyme label="h" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">trim</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Our sailor blood at swiftest <rhyme label="a1" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">pace</rhyme></l>
               <l>To catch the victory <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l1">nigh</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>And when its work to-day was <rhyme label="i1" type="dvpp:rhymeHalf dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">done</rhyme></l>
               <l>All would be dark in <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeEye" label="n1">death</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The purpose, welded at white <rhyme label="f1" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">heat</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Cried, like some visible <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p1">Fate</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>“ To-day, we must not merely <rhyme label="f1" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">beat</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>We must annihi<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p1">late</rhyme>.”</l>
