               <l>Nor feel his bosom heave with livelier <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">bound</rhyme> ?</l>
               <l>Through all we are the swelling pulse must <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">beat</rhyme></l>
               <l>At thought of all we are, of all things <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">round</rhyme> :</l>
               <l>Our inmost selves the straining vision <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">meet</rhyme>,</l>

               <l>Unopen’d world of self-evolving <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeFeminine" label="d">power</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>That now but hears the instant’s tiny <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">call</rhyme> !</l>
               <l>Within its dewdrop life, its folded <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeFeminine" label="d">flower</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Distress and strife the thoughtless heart en<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">thrall</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>And stirrings big with man’s unmeasured <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">hope</rhyme></l>
               <l>Have scarcely strength against one pang to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">cope</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Bewildering, cloudy dawn ! then pass from <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">view</rhyme></l>

               <l>Then wakes the will, and fiercely grasps a <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">clue</rhyme>,</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> wond’ring feels it snapp’d by headlong <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h">force</rhyme>,</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> sad and weeping grows a child a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">new</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Till joy comes back from life’s unfailing <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h">source</rhyme>—</l>
               <l>New aims, new thoughts, new passions take their <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">turn</rhyme>,</l>

               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">What</seg> wounds that pierce through pride’s phantasmal <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeIdentical" label="j">play</rhyme> !—</l>
               <l>A thousand objects woo’d and thrown a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="j">way</rhyme> !</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> idols dear that no response will <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="k">yield</rhyme>
                  !</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> so within one bosom’s living <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l">cell</rhyme></l>
               <l>A fiendish foe and helpless victim <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l">dwell</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Oh, gorgeous dreams, and wing-borne flight of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">youth</rhyme> !</l>
               <l>That thinks by scorning earth to win the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="n">skies</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>Forebodings dim of visionary <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">truth</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>That like a beast pursued before us <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="n">flies</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>Insane delight in monstrous forms un<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">couth</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>That thence perchance some prophet-ghost may <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="n">rise</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>Blind love of light, and craving hate of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="o">rest</rhyme> !—</l>
               <l>How far our strangest world is in the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="o">breast</rhyme> !</l>

               <l>Abounding pictures, bright with morn and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p">joy</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Of all the endless beings round us <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="q">known</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Bewilder, vex, intoxicate, and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p">cloy</rhyme>,—</l>
               <l>A land of bliss how near, yet not our <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="q">own</rhyme> !</l>
               <l>All things so fair each sense they needs em<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p">ploy</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Yet ’mid them all the spirit wastes a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="q">lone</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>So many, lovely, large, and sweet they <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="r">seem</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>As if to prove the whole is only <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="r">dream</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>From them distraction, folly, rapture, <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="s">springs</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And life’s true rapture seems but now be<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="t">gun</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>For mad we seek the joy that passion <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="s">brings</rhyme></l>
               <l>To hearts by inmost treacheries all un<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="t">done</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Though love’s concealing veil is dark and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="u">stern</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Nor e’er did eyes profane its mystery <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="u">learn</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>And, ’twixt the arduous That and easy <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="v">This</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>We feign the trial more than man can <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="w">bear</rhyme>.</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">Still</seg> Conscience stabs and bleeds ; Temptation’s <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="v">kiss</rhyme></l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">Still</seg> sucks our purest life, and taints the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="w">air</rhyme>

               <l>Ambition climbs the unstable mountain-<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="x">head</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>But sick’ning hours, and weariness of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="y">breath</rhyme>,</l>

               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> dreams that shuddering hail the name of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="y">death</rhyme>,</l>

               <l>All these, O God ! thy servant Conscience <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeHalf" label="y">saith</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Are surely sent by Thee—thy word o<rhyme label="j" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">bey</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>The world of man so bright, and soul so <rhyme label="k" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">strong</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>To man are shown defaced by human <rhyme label="k" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">wrong</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>And thus, by inward act and outward <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="z">led</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>We know the things we are if loosed from <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a1">thee</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>How blind as rocks, and weak as branches <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="z">dead</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And vain and fierce, to show us nobly <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a1">free</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>To leave thy paths in desert wilds we <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="z">fled</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And hoped no longer thine—our own to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a1">be</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>So sinking down from fancied all to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b1">nought</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>One grain of dust was left by misery <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b1">taught</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>That speck, O Father! still to thee was <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c1">dear</rhyme>—</l>
               <l>A living relic capable of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d1">good</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>And bruised and crush’d by woe, and shame, and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c1">fear</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Arose again from earth, and upright <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d1">stood</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>Thy Spirit still was there,-not now se<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c1">vere</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And fed the yearning heart with loving <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d1">food</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Till brave and clear, discerning all the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e1">past</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>It knew that peace and hope were gain’d at <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e1">last</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The world obscure and distant now no <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f1">more</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>With sights of truthful gladness fills the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g1">breast</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>And love, so false and foul a name be<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f1">fore</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>With countless joys the wounded heart has <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g1">blest</rhyme> :</l>
               <l>And thus, O God ! thy child serene and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h1">bold</rhyme>,</l>
