               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">From</seg> the dark rings seen en the valleys green ; </l>

               <l>In the rosy dawn, in the cloudy dusk,</l>

               <l>So we bid them farewell with regretful thoughts,</l>
               <l>With tender mem’ries, and gentle <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">rhymes</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>But where have they vanished ? the small bright folk,</l>

               <l>Too frail to traverse the rolling seas,</l>

               <l>Too light to sink to the underworld,</l>
               <l>Where the shadows of death lie brooding <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeHalf" label="e">o’er</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Too feeble to reach heaven’s gates of gold ;</l>
               <l>(Their wings are slight, though so light and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">fleet</rhyme>);</l>
               <l>They’d fail in the blue, so cold and pure,</l>
               <l>And find no rest for their tiny <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">feet</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Perhaps they are still near the moated hill,</l>
               <l>The rank green grass, and the flower-sweet <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">sod</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>May their sleep be soft on the earth, poor souls !</l>
               <l>Whose wings are too weak to ascend to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">God</rhyme>.</l>
