               <l>It raves round the splintered spires of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">stone</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Then dies away in a hollow <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">moan</rhyme></l>
               <l>In the slimy caverns wide and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">lone</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Like the plaint of a pale and flitting <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">ghost</rhyme></l>
               <l>At its curse of Immortali<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">ty</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Each headland frowus through the rainy <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">gloom</rhyme></l>
               <l>Like a couchant Sphinx with a face of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">doom</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Solemn and calm through the fret and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">fume</rhyme></l>
               <l>Of the hissing waves in their ocean <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">bed</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And the winds that buffet and rage in <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h">vain</rhyme> !</l>

               <l>Is it a creature of the <rhyme label="e" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">sea</rhyme> ?</l>
               <l>A boneless horror, whose lair may <rhyme label="e" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">be</rhyme></l>
               <l>In the caverns that yawn so gloomi<rhyme label="e" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">ly</rhyme> ?</l>
               <l>Some loathsome monster that hates the <rhyme label="b" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">day</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And hides from the sun for ever<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="j">more</rhyme> ?</l>

               <l>The day advances ; a wan cold <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="k">light</rhyme></l>
               <l>Gleams from the torn gray sky o’er<rhyme label="g" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">head</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>Drearily strikes on the cliff’s bare <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l">steep</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Dismally glances on rocks that <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l">weep</rhyme></l>
               <l>With the raindrops that down their furrows <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l">creep</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Or hang on their trailing growth un<rhyme label="g" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">shed</rhyme> :</l>
               <l>The day is more drear than the bygone <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="k">night</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>’Tis a strange wild figure that grows de<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">fined</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>In the chilly light of the dismal <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="n">morn</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>A maid stood there, of dishevelled <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="o">mien</rhyme></l>
               <l>And lovely presence, or once had <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="o">been</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>But now ; ah, picture the desolate <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="o">scene</rhyme></l>
               <l>And the wind-tost maid and her state for<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="n">lorn</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>A broken life, and a wandering <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">mind</rhyme> !</l>

               <l>Her lover was drowned on that rock-bound <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p">coast</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>Keel upwards, his boat came back from <rhyme label="e" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">sea</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>She watches and waits for his spectral <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="q">form</rhyme>,</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">Her</seg> figure drenched, but her love still <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="q">warm</rhyme>
