               <l>When the fancies fail like the falling <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeFeminine" label="b">flowers</rhyme>,</l>

               <l>We see the sorrows of saint and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">sage</rhyme></l>
               <l>When the psalm is sung and the wisdom <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">told</rhyme>.</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">Did they</seg> love so little and fear so <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h">much</rhyme></l>
               <l>That the birds in their breasts forbore to <rhyme label="d" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">fledge</rhyme> !</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">Did they</seg> find no flowers in the paths they <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">trod</rhyme></l>
               <l>To warm their hearts to the old-world <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">sod</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>To bloom again at a dear hand’s <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="h">touch</rhyme></l>

               <l>For beautiful rest—but none for <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="k">tears</rhyme>.</l>
               <l>Have we sinned in this? Are our hopes all <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l">vain</rhyme> ?</l>
               <l>Will our joy turn bare as the May-clad <rhyme label="d" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">hedge</rhyme> ?</l>
               <l>If it be that the cup of our peace must <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">spill</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Will the Hand that empties it not re<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">fill</rhyme> ?</l>
               <l>Of all our treasures may none re<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="l">main</rhyme></l>

               <l>Let us pluck the pleasures of life a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="n">right</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And garner them all for a future <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="o">dream</rhyme>—</l>
               <l>For the last late dream of our dreams come <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="p">true</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>At the last late proof of our proven <rhyme label="d" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">pledge</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>When the sun that showed us our joy is <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="q">gone</rhyme>,</l>
