Poem included in Chambers’s 1901 Christmas Number, which is unnumbered but falls between issue 209 and 210. In the Chambers’s issue for October 1901, the Christmas number is announced as Ready December 2, 1901,
which is taken as the publication date (SP). Chambers’s Journal ledger indicates that Mrs Sarah Wilson was paid £2 12s 6d for the poem, and gives no address (NLS Dep 341/371) (AC).
